First Snow

We had our first snow a few days ago. My boys are so excited. Nolan can not wait to make his first snowman, and Jared wants to rake the snow and jumpin a pile. :) (He's not quite out of fall mode yet)
Hopefully over the holiday week we'll get a chance with the daylight to make our first snowman.

Brianna & Colin

Today, Steve and I, along with Mark doing the videography, photographed the wedding of Brianna and Colin in Geneva. The forecast was for frequent, heavy lake effect snow showers, but we escaped with just a dusting today. It was cold though. We were only outside for a few minutes, but every one's noses were red and we were all covered in goose bumps. The wedding was at St. Stephen's Church with the reception at Club 86.

Me and the little guys

I am savory each and everyday of this wonderful weather! The boys and I raked a ha-uge pile of leaves today to bury ourselves in. We had such a wonderful time jumping and raking, and picture taking!

Remembrance

Today is a day for reflecting and remembering at the studio. We've closed down for the day to remember Sandi.

It was on year ago that she was taken from us.

Mark and I were talking yesterday that it still doesn't seem real sometimes. I still expect to see her come into the studio with a great smile on her face, in true Sandi fashion. Always ready to tell us the brighter side of things. I still expect to see her at weddings, to suggest neat ideas for the couple. I still expect to hear her giggle.

As I get older it gets harder to be a grown up. To realize that everything is so fragile. As a parent part of our job is to prepare our children for everything that they might encounter on their way to becoming an adult. How do you prepare your children for losing a friend? I don't think it's possible. We still all greatly miss her. And we all still have this "feeling" that she's around, and that's nice and comforting for all of us. We love you Sandi, and miss you!

Santa is Coming Early

With the success of our Santa photos year after year, we are doing something new this year in order to accommodate everyone. First, we are having two days of studio sessions instead of one. We have decided to do the photos in mid-November this year. The dates will be November 15th and 16th at the studio. Now for the fun part. For the first few hours on Saturday, we will be doing beached themed Santa photos with Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses. Later in the day we will be back to winter with multiple different set ups to add variety. We will have our traditional sleigh scene, a fireplace scene, an all white winter scene and a Victorian doorway scene.
We will also be doing appointments in 15 minute increments with a set package of 25 4x5 Christmas cards with envelopes, 2 5x7s and an 8x10 for $75. Prepay your session when you book your time slot and you'll also receive a gift certificate for an additional half hour studio session.
For those not interested in a full 15 minutes session, we will have a limited amount of time for a walk-in visit with Santa and our a-la-carte pricing.
The schedule will be:Saturday, November 15th from 11:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.-Beach photos in the morning and Winter photos in the afternoon with walk-in time from 3:30-5:00 p.m.Sunday, November 16th from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with Winter scene appointments through 3:30 p.m. and walk-in appointments from 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
